ONX Level 22 Paso Robles 2015 - Last Bottle

ONX Level 22 Paso Robles 2015

Like Metallica? Surfing 80-foot waves? Monster, blockbuster, pedal-to-the-metal California blends (imagine The Prisoner on some anabolic steroids)?? How about killer blends with DOUBLE 93-POINT scores, at way, WAY below anything deemed rational?? We GOT you. This baby is a LEVIATHAN! Don’t miss, please!

OK, it’s BIG, but it’s not going to hurt you, promise. That’s because it’s also rich, dark, purple, ripe, juicy, and literally EXPLODING with secondary aromas and flavors beyond the blackberry jam and strawberry pie -- man!! Hard to encapsulate it all for you, but let your brain and mouth wander off to your favorite place for dessert, because while it’s a dry wine, it’s redolent with mocha, Caramello bar (or Rolo!), pie crust, perfume, incense, licorice, and a terrific savory finish that is a bit like sweet soy. TONS going on here, a head-spinner of a bottle that is meant to make an impression. Our price should too, for a double 93-pointer!! Amazing! Not a lot of this one!!

A firm slap to the face with a loving hug after, the 2015 Level 22 is density and impactful flavors with an element of balance all wrapped into one fat-bottomed bottle. Syrah based, this blend offers a bevy of fresh red fruits such as currants, dusty cherries, and water drenched raspberries along with a blue and black medley of reduced plums, figs and brambles. Femininity offers restraint in the form of perfumes such as dry lavender, chive blossoms, and oleander which proves to balance the brooding fruitfulness and add layers worth inspecting again and again. A gushing entry of olallieberry pie along with black cherry and currants pave way for a palate of plush, silky tannin that is even through and through. Never ceasing, a firm mid-palate lifts high-tone flavors of dried cranberries and cobbler as well as dark flavors of bakers chocolate, coffee, and Tobacco. Red dried fruit and candied orange peel persists into the finish, which is long and silky, offering much reprieve to the boastful flavors this intriguing blend offers. Layered and complex, you are sure to spend much time discovering while experiencing.
