Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Reservee 2014
** pats self on back, looks seriously into monitor **
It is an HONOR to offer wines of this caliber. Truly. I mean….PEGAU!! Wazow. We work extremely hard to find established LEGENDS here at Last Bottle on a daily basis. You want some Crustacean Bay California Cabernet or Dulce du Leche Mochaccino Syrah? There are other places for that insipidness. Today, we pay homage to one of the great Chateauneuf-du-Pape producers, made by the force-of-nature Laurence Féraud. 93 POINTS and the most melon-twistingly awesome price you will EVER see. BOOM!! Collectors, this is a no-brainer!
The GLORY of great, classic, legit Chateauneuf is just encapsulated here, in a vintage Laurence describes as “her little Burgundy”. In 2014 the Domaine du Pegau IS like Burgundy….crazily complex, long-lived, extremely layered with all manner of flavors and aromas to percolate your brain and taste buds. YES! Elegant and savory, it’s one of those amazing wines that changes by the minute --- spice box, kirsch, juniper, incense, blackberry extract….then on into sweet herbs, tobacco, earth...really a FUN, FUN ride!! Crazy to see Pegau priced like we have today...PLEASE don’t miss! GET THE GOOD STUFF!
