Where our warehouse/office sits in Napa, we are just a stone’s throw from Carneros, and we can tell you, the 2018 harvest is in full swing. Grape trucks are everywhere!! The Mulas family, proprietors of Krooked Horn, have been farming this land since the 30s, and based on the deliciousness of the sample bottle we got, we instantly set out to buy every bottle we could. This involved a few meetings, some beers, some burgers and BOOM, here you are. $19!!

The reason Carneros is so fantastic for pinot (and chardonnay) is the cool breezes and fog that often blanket the gentle rolling terrain --- this makes for wines with acidity and freshness and that is what you have here ALL DAY. Super, laser-bright pomegranate and rhubarb, with light lashes of clove and allspice, and a little cola or almost root beer note. Soft tannins and a clean raciness that makes your (well, our) mouth literally water. $19!! Drink it all weekend!! We will be! Not much to go around!!
