Palazzo Proprietary Red Reserve Right Bank Napa Valley 2011

BOOM! Wow! We have huge, mad respect for this Napa red at the regular price, but at OVER 50% OFF? C’mon!! This wine gets HUGE press and scores most years (2010 Parker 96+, 2012 Parker 98+!!), so snagging a little of the plush, silky ‘11 is just...dope!! Amazing!! Palazzo can be HARD to find, unless you’re a regular at The French Laundry and dozens of other uber-high-end restaurants...this is simply lush and lovely stuff that is drinking sensationally right now, today, no waiting, no sir! What a price!!! Napa, baby!

“Right Bank” refers to the right bank of Bordeaux (St. Emilion and Pomerol + satellites), as this blend emulates those appellations with higher percentages of Merlot along with the Cabernet and Cab Franc. Scott Palazzo’s wines regularly get big scores as noted above, and with a little age, this one is PERFECT --- deep, opulent, and complex. Man, it’s good to be a local!! How else would we make this stuff happen?

Dope, indeed, with tons of Napa goodness gushing into your brain and mouth --- serious black currant fruit, a twizzler of red fruit, mocha, espresso, pie crust and herbs….tons going on and it’s all wrapped in a velvety texture --- very Napa (you won’t confuse it with Bordeaux, we don’t think) but disarmingly delicious. You saw that price, right?? As you might expect, we got very little, so if Napa Red is your jam, best be on it….while it lasts…!
