La Pitchoune Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2014 - Last Bottle

La Pitchoune Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2014

Hey, beautiful. We know, you are cooking like crazy, and wrapping up all that last minute stuff. ONE. MORE. THING. Take ya 30 seconds and it will improve your life immensely. 94-POINT PINOT!!  Yeah!!

First off -- Merry Christmas, we hope you are drinking something splendiferous and jingle-bell-rocking-it-up. We snuck into the office to shoot this one out (bloody Mary in hand, of course..) --- a geeky, “insider” label that we miraculously snagged a few cases of -- this is one of those wines all the high-flying sommeliers you read about are drinking and buying and pouring in their restaurants. La Pitchoune! Sonoma Coast brilliance and INTENSITY!

Insanely great, savory, utterly PACKED pinot for this price….there is a whole fruit basket of red fruits (pomegranate, cranberry, blood orange, not to mention the high note of rose petals!!) and complex spices. Asian spices, leather, orange pekoe tea, too, well, you’ll just have to decide for yourself what all is going on!! And do it at WAY LESS than the rest of the world!! Woo hoo! THAT’S how to do a the holidays!! Only a tiny bt to go around! OK, love y'all --- have a great holiday!!

Our house theme of producing Pinot Noir that is not typically "California" in style, has prevailed once again and is on full display with this bottling. Aromas of petrol, tar, tobacco, dried rose petals, red fruits, star anise and ginger rise from the glass. Fresh, bright flavors of wild strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate and blood orange are interlaced with juniper berry, black tea, smoked meats and soft chewy tannins. Although this complex wine is approachable now, it will only improve over the next 10-15 years. Decanting is highly recommended.
