Godello is the cool wine of the moment and the second you rip into the box and get this sizzlingly yummy white in your mouth you will understand why we bought every single bottle we could. At $11??? C’mon! To quote a recent NYT article about Godello and what it’s like, these were mentioned...“white Bordeaux on steroids” or “California chardonnay without the nonsense”. But the fun is drinking it and deciding for yourself --- for us, this is more on the white Bordeaux line of thinking --- it’s OUTRAGEOUSLY fresh and just soaring with candied lemon peel, toasted nuts, honeydew melon and even tart passionfruit notes, and in the MOUTH? More lemon and lemon rind, salty sea air, oyster shell, and an intriguing gingery-spice finish. There’s no oak here at all, just lightning-fresh, pure zing-zing deliciousness. MMM!
