World's End Cabernet Sauvignon Stir It Up Stagecoach Vineyard Napa Valley 2014

Man…it is GOOD to be a local!! CABERNET! 94 points! Stagecoach Vineyard (grape source for Pahlmeyer, Caymus, and dozens more) -- an inky dark, plush beast!! Wow! Only a tiny bit to go around! Happy happy Thursday indeed!

Whew!! So, many of the savviest of you all will know WORLD'S END --- the Napa Valley brainchild of Jonathan Maltus. Jonathan Maltus is much better known for making wine in St. Emilion (he has made oodles of highly-acclaimed and huge-scoring wines, including several 100-pointers) at LE DOME and Chateau Tessier, among others. This is MODERN-styled, rich, hedonistic Cab from a coveted vineyard!

You know, some wines are Ford Escorts, some wines are Ferraris, and SOME are like, let's say, an Audi TTS, or the Volvo R Series wagons or Range Rovers....elegantly presented, subtle-looking but absolutely ROARING, heart-pounding and powerful under the hood. That's this wine. An incredible buy at our exhilarating price!! The 94-point review pretty much says it all -- “ hugely robust in concentration and power” -- berries, black cherry, licorice, mocha, tons of silky French oak and persistent spice. Not for the shy! Only a bit to sell!

Jonathan Maltus loves music.  Visiting him often includes playing rock music trivia pursuit and name that tune, where you wager on how fast you can name a song.  Obviously, his love for music found its way to the World’s End wines, which is the inspiration for all of his wines names as you will see.

World’s End Stir It Up, is inspired by a Bob Marley song.

About The Producer

World’s end is the brainchild of Jonathan Maltus who is known for making wine in St. Emilion from a variety of different terroirs. Maltus also makes wine in Australia. Chateau Le Dome and Chateau Teyssier are his 2 best known, Right Bank wines.

Jonathan Maltus wanted to buy his own vineyard. He came close to purchasing property on Spring Mountain. But, the initial deal fell apart.  So, he tracked down some very good, sources for grapes chiefly from Andy Beckstoffer.

The main sources for grapes used to produce World’s End wines comes from To Kalon Missouri Hooper, Vineyard D Missouri Hooper, Vineyard B Circle S, Coombsville Sugarloaf Mountain Beckstoffer Vineyard, Georges III Carneros Lake Vineyard, Pritchard Hill and the Stagecoach vineyard. Several of the wines are Left Bank Bordeaux styled blends with various amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
