Livio Sassetti Brunello di Montalcino Pertimali 2013

Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!” -- Ghostbusters

It IS getting a little ridiculous up in here today….we’re telling you, this wine, this price, this everything is LIT!! 98 POINT Brunello for 50% OFF? Madness!! And barely any to go around!

Collectors, lovers of all that is good and true and pure and TUSCAN, eliminate absolutely everything from your life for the next 60 seconds and GET THIS now. Like, now now.

Intense, complex, subtle...fabulous length…” --- oh YEAH! That’s what we’re talkin’ about. OK, ok, so Sassetti is a regular rockstar in Brunello, from the north side of Montalcino where they own a part of the legendary Montosoli hill they call Pertimali. 2013 is a fantastic vintage -- the wines are drinking spectacularly now and will for another 3-10 years. This wine (we mentioned 98 points, right??) has the fantastic sweet woodsy aroma you CRAVE, with hints of truffles, black cherries, citrus rind, and a fresh, mouth-watering line of acidity. Give it some air and watch it POP -- and also, give it some fresh pasta, or fresh pizza, or, ideally, THIS. Special occasion Brunello for sure (just not priced like it)!

Mass hysteria indeed, this is probably already gone if you read this far! WOW wow wow!

On the hill known as Montosoli, Pertimali’s wines are renowned for representing the perfect balance between the fruit-forward wines of southern Montalcino and the dense, structured, mineral wines of the north.

About The Producer

In northeast Montalcino, the Sassetti family has produced wine for more than a century. In the vineyard and in the cellar, father Livio and his two sons work in observance of time-honored traditions, including hand harvesting, giant oak botte, and spontaneous fermentations, all in accordance with the phases of the moon and organic farming regulations. The wines are rich, deep, and perfumed, reflecting a very genuine style of Sangiovese.
