94 POINT Macon…it boggles the mind. From the southern tip of Burgundy comes this third-generation Domaine, and the "Villages" bottling is nothing but bottled, vivacious FRESHNESS! Pear, white nectarine, green apple, lemon verbena, make this go pop, pop, POP! Followed by a soft and creamy caress of the tongue, with an explosion of tumbled river rock and chipped flint sensation shooting this into a finish of zippy, tart pomelo and a kiss of nutty, sweet cream butter. The wine is fresher than a certain prince from Bel Air and slaps twice as hard!! Bright, and delightfully crushable, with enough layers for any super serious White Burgundy fanatic. Under $30 makes this an utterly LEGENDARY White Burgundy steal of a deal – from the always surprising Mâcon-Villages. Pure and brilliant chardonnay has been made in and around here for a 1000+ years (probably much, much longer – 591 is the first year of recorded mention of winemaking from the area) – and it’s hard to even contemplate a more satisfying, soul-quenching White Burg for anywhere near this price. Sounds great, right? IT IS!! And the price!! Nothing short of brilliant, and you SURE will not see it like this anywhere else ever!! CAVEAT: as is almost always with Burgundy....there is not a lot!! Gotta be quick.....!

“Born in 1932, in the village of Davayé, Jean and his wife Andrée were cultivating vines on an area of 6 hectares. Lover of his land and passionate, Jean has dedicated his life to vines and wines. Three generations later, passion and know-how has been perpetuated and preserved. Today, wines are still vinified and matured in the historic estate, located in the area of the village of Davayé known as "Valanges”. This is where it all started but also where the future is defined. The wines signed “Jean des Valanges” are a tribute to Jean, its history and his land. Wines aims to reflect this precious heritage; offering generous and precise wines.”
