They only make 200 CASES a year of this single vineyard flagship – and it is their old school, patience required, big-baddy. So, most of you savvy types will already be snapping this up – it’s a small parcel and almost never seen stateside – so don’t wait, just GET THIS!! What a price!!! 95 points! Lovely, lush, complex, and powerfully-styled Brunello – where rich, bold, and structured flavors somehow, glide like gossamer across the mouth, never fading, but never jarring or rough. Maxed out with deep black cherries, balsamic, Luxardo cherry, dried lilacs and candied violets, iodine, licorice, a hint of black tea, some cocoa dust, minerally earth, and sweet grilled herbs…ah…! It changes with every sip, and just gets deeper and deeper like that move, Abyss! Man, don’t miss this…only a couple more days of these low shipping minimums, and two or three of these are just PERFECT! Who knows if we’ll ever get this rare creature again?! 95 points, people! Go, go, GOOOOO!

Its textures are like pure silk, draped slowly across the palate, leaving a staining of mineral-tinged berries, licorice and violet tones to linger. A juicy core of brisk acids helps to alleviate a bit of tannic heft, as the 2015 tapers off with tremendous length and a primary coating of intense red fruit. It will take a number of years for the Capriolo Riserva to find balance, but it's a wait well worth it.”

About The Producer
Salvatore Vallone first went to Tuscany to visit his brother-in-law, who had fled to Tuscany after escaping a prison camp during WWII. He fell in love, and moved his family to their new Tuscan estate, where they raised cattle, made cheese, and produced oil and table wine. Salvatore would pass his knowledge onto his son, Pasquale, who would go on to establish Terre Nere after falling in love with a wild, unspoiled area to the south-east of Montalcino. He acquired the estate in 1997 and planted ten hectares of vines– he released the first Brunello Terre Nere by 2002. Pasquale has shared his wealth of viticultural knowledge with his son Federico, who presently collaborates with his father in the family enterprise.
