Caves Messias Miguels Late Bottled Vintage Port 2012

Fall in Napa is amazing. More red wine, more hot tubbing, and more cheese and Port!!! Yes! Bring it! Happy Sunday!

Bring it at nearly 50% OFF today, that is, this mulberry-packed bottle of goodness at a ridiculous price is a STUNNER for $19 (still hard to wrap our heads around). “LBV” (Late Bottled Vintage) is a term to denote a style that seeks to emulate the traditional "Vintage" Port, so it's generally close to those stylistically without being anywhere near the price!! Roy Hersh, a longtime client/friend of ours and renowned Port expert, can explain it a bit better HERE, if you like.

*** Pro tip: Port will stay good for a month or so after you open it. So don’t worry about not finishing a bottle!

We mentioned the lovely mulberry, with its purple-y, jammy, even citrusy flavors. It's EXACTLY what this fantastic, rich, mouthcoating Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port tastes like, along with dark cocoa, clove, exotic vanilla bean and toasty aromatic wood. Fresh, super-long finish, and terrific balance - a crazy-good mouthful for $19!! Keeps ya warm on these cool nights...while it lasts, that is...very little to go around!

LBV 2012 is of a ruby deep red color, fresh and fruity with a delicious touch of black licorice notes and chemical nuances. The palate is well-balanced, concentrated with strong, rounded tannin and a long delicious after taste note.
