Chateau Laroque Margaux 2015

Nothing to see here folks, move along…

Except MARGAUX (so rare to see!!) at nearly 50% OFF, from the brilliant, insanely great 2015 vintage in Bordeaux ---- we’re bustin’ today! Wow!

Almost as rare as finding a parking space in downtown San Francisco, ANY Chateaux from the tiny Margaux appellation in Bordeaux are nearly impossible to find. So when we had our minds blown upon finding this gem, well, we said: “we need to buy every bottle the Chateau will sell us”. BOOM! Here ya go! Direct from the Chateau! Total score!

So, what’s it all about, you ask, besides the best Bordeaux (we mentioned MARGAUX, right??) deal you have seen? Well, Château Laroque is one of the very last family-owned properties in the prestigious appellation, and it’s surrounded by all those hyper-pricey (like, 3, 5, 10X) Classified Growths. In a vintage like 2015 (wow wow woo hoo), this wine, sitting in our glass at 8:35am, is filling this office with plum jam, pomegranate, spicecake, tobacco leaf, crushed flowers, vanilla bean and toasted spice --- but the real kicker and deal-sealer is the lush, warm texture and length. Bordeaux can be a little clamped down sometimes, but this one is open for business, and will only get better over the next few years! Man, we love this vintage. Anyway, a screaming deal and not a lot of it to go around!! Woo hoo!

The nose of this wine is both intense and powerful with red fruits, vanilla and toasted aromas. This is a full bodied wine, with good balance and ripe tannins. Traditional vinification is used in thermo regulated vats. The wine is aged for 9 months in the vats and 9 months in French oak barrels.
