Rubissow Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Mt. Veeder Napa Valley 2015 - Last Bottle

Rubissow Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Mt. Veeder Napa Valley 2015

Well, we went and did it again. RUBISSOW Reserve is in da HOUSE!

** if you love Mt. Veeder Cabernet (or you had the '14 and already know how dope this stuff is) -- PLEASE do not spend an extra moment doing anything that is not remotely related to getting some **

Did you see that price? We’re no math experts but that looks like over 50% OFF! And, oh lordy, the 2015 Napa Cabs in general are superb wines across the board. HUGE! If you've ever driven the steep hairpin lefts and rights of Mt. Veeder, you will eventually pass a sign or two demarcating the 45-acre Rubissow ranch, bought and planted over three decades ago. While much of the highly-regarded grapes are sold, we snagged a tiny bit of the awesome Reserve, made by Tim Milos, whose resume includes Opus One, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, and Cliff Lede, to name but a few!! Truly an astounding deal...if only we had more!

Man! This is Napa Cabernet more like what your parents probably drank -- big, serious, powerful and ageable. We say this alot about this winery (‘cause it’s true) but we can’t help but think of wines like the old Mt. Veeder, Heitz and Mayacamas. The 2015 is fatter and perhaps even plusher than the ‘14, and it still packs in the rip-roaring cassis, blackberry jam, spicecake and coffee notes, with fresh acidity and a long, spicy, toasty finish. Gorgeous package, too, heavy glass and serious heft! Pure and clean, and singing of Cabernet with some mountain grip and persistence...this will easily cellar for another 10-20 years if you so choose...just a super-lucky small production, killer ‘15 we are stoked to bring you!!! While it lasts, that is...

We are rugged individualists.

Winemaker Timothy Milos crafts thrillingly delicious wines using modern craft & unapologetic classical old-world style.

Each bottling is richly expressive of place, with terroir you can feel.

In the early days (80s), our family worked closely with founding mentor André Tchelistcheff who brought his immense skill, wit & uncompromising vision to our dream of making hillside wines that speak of their origin.

Today, as second generation owners, we carry that bright vision forward? in each rare bottling.

We hope to gain a place at your dinner table.

Cheers!

Timothy Milos, Peter Rubissow & Ariel Rubissow-Okamoto

About The Producer

Rubissow Vineyard - a former grassy-ridged 1800s homestead - was purchased in 1983 and planted to vines by the family partnership of George Rubissow and his children, Ariel & Peter Rubissow. From the start, famed winemaker/consultant André Tchelistcheff was retained towork closely with the Rubissows in the meticulous planning and development of the site. Together, their singular goal focused on producing world-class Bordeaux-style red & wihite wines under the Rubissow~Sargent label. After several successful decades in the market, in 2004 Peter & Ariel dissolved Rubissow~Sargent and founded Rubissow, with new winemaker Timothy Milos at the helm. Their vision was to respect and improve upon the decades of experience and farming wisdom gained in years prior, and to move ahead with modernity and elegance. Today Rubissow wines are enjoyed around the world by wine collectors and enthusiasts who value the estate’s commitment to authentic terroir expression and pure, unfiltered deliciousness.
