Markus Molitor Riesling Haus Klosterberg Mosel Valley 2016 - Last Bottle

Markus Molitor Riesling Haus Klosterberg Mosel Valley 2016

What’s more exhilarating??? Paying $15 for a bristle-ingly, cracking-great, pure shot of electric Riesling (with a 90-POINT Wine Advocate score…!)...OR…..DRINKING (savoring!) the crackling-great, vitalizing, bracing and juicy bottle of brilliance?

Whatever, it’s a total win-win --- Markus Molitor is a BENCHMARK for German greatness (the wines are often called “awe-inspiring”) and this DRY, concentrated, racy wine is an unreal bottle for the money. How do we get these deals? We don’t ask, we just JUMP and buy as much as we can. Just hit the warehouse direct from Germany!

EIGHT generations of Molitors have made world-class Riesling. 2016 is a superb vintage, we might add, so snagging a bottle at our price to drink with gusto as much as possible is imperative. Deeply flavored with a fantastic dry peach/apricot flavor, white flowers, lemon rind, lemon pith, even a little sweet lime. Dry with just a slight sensation of sweetness, it’s got killer acid and as the Wine Advocate notes, a little bit of a “sea air” finish along with all the fruit. Just an invigorating, tasty, zesty bottle at a ridiculously great price. Get it while we got it….!

The 2016er Riesling Haus Klosterberg (White Capsule) delivers an attractive and fruit-driven nose including pear, greengage, canned yellow peach and smoke. The wine is playful and light-bodied on the palate, but develops good presence as it develops in the glass. The finish of this stylish and quite approachable effort is smooth and delicate.

About The Producer

In 1984, at the tender age of 20, Markus Molitor took over his
father's winery with a clear aim: to produce Mosel Rieslings under the
name "Molitor" in the tradition of eight generations and in the same
quality that made the region world-famous 100 years ago –
terroir-specific, unmistakeable and extremely storable.
