Lutum Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills 2015 - Last Bottle

Lutum Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills 2015

LUTUM LOVE-FEST CONTINUES!! Are you on the Last Bottle LUTUM love train?? GET. ON. now (or again!!) -- as part of our huge buy of the drop-dead sexy Lutum winery disbandment inventory, today we bring another jaw-dropper to the Interwebs -- the 93-POINT, over 50% OFF, gorgeous, refined 2015 “La Rinconada Vineyard”!! This is one of our coolest and most lip-smacking acquisitions in a long time!!

PULL OVER, freeze whatever you’re doing, GET OUT of that meeting, stop, drop, roll to your phone and make sure to snag this. We offered the Sanford & Benedict last month (it was a little more expensive) and it sold out in record time. DON’T miss this powerhouse  -- winemaker Gavin Chanin says “I’m very excited to see this wine as it ages – I think it’s going to last forever.” We like the sound of that!

WHEW! OK, ok, here’s the scoop-a-dee-doop: LUTUM is one of the wineries run by the intrepid and brilliant Bill Price, with rockstar winemaker Gavin Chanin (just Google the press on his wines on top of what he does at Lutum!). Bill Price owns Three Sticks, HEAD HIGH (a Last Bottle client all-time fave if there ever was one…!) and he is an investor/owner in such glorious vineyards as Durell, Gap’s Crown and many others, and also has active interests in Kistler Vineyards and Gary Farrell wineries. This guy does NOT mess around! THE BEST!

Lutum is being disbanded to focus more on the Three Sticks and Chanin brands. We, due to our dashing good looks of course, were able to secure the remaining inventory, and, kids, these are drop-dead fabulous, sexy, concentrated, silky wines. A COLOSSAL no-brainer!

SO! This is our THIRD super-score in this incredible parcel was this 93-pointer (still can’t believe the price!!). Buy as much as you can. We’ll simply quote Vinous, because they said it best…"The Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard is a very pretty, restrained wine that showcases the purity of fruit from this famed Sta. Rita Hills site. Sweet red berry, orange peel, mint, rose petal and spice notes give the wine its distinctive aromatic signatures. This is a very pretty, feminine Pinot from Gavin Chanin.” At our price..well, you know what to do. Will go in a flash!

Lastly, as we tra-la-la off into the warehouse to start packing boxes for you (you will want to drink this the moment it arrives, so you can say “shoulda got more…”), here are winemaker Gavin Chanin’s notes, just for another data point for ya….

La Rinconada, with its slope exposed to the cold west winds of the Santa Rita Hills, is in its purest form in 2015. Spice, hints of dark fruit dominate this wine. The palate compliments the nose with black currant, and spice with bright acidity that keeps the wine lively on the palate. Overall this wine is best described as brooding and it will be best enjoyed with a bit of time in the decanter. I’m very excited to see this wine as it ages – I think it’s going to last forever.

This deal, though...probably won’t last for a few hours…! While it lasts!

About The Producer

LUTUM was born from a shared vision between Bill Price, entrepreneur and
owner Price Family Vineyards, and winemaker Gavin Chanin. Their wine
focuses on small-production, single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
from prime vineyard sites in California. The name LUTUM is Latin for
dirt or soil, referencing their mission to make wines that express these
great sites, with little to mask the vineyards’ natural character.
Together, they are the Bards of LUTUM.
