Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay Margaret River 2014 - Last Bottle

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay Margaret River 2014

We could not be more blown away right now if Steph Curry rolled into our office kitchen with a BBQ and started grilling up some of his wife Ayesha’s pork ribs. Although, those would be nothing but perfect with this SENSATIONAL, absolutely astonishingly delicious, world-class bottle of Chardonnay. WOW!! Leeuwin!! 96, 95, and 94 points!!

Calling all hardcore collectors and those who want to drink killer, exceedingly rare, super high-scoring, pricey Corton-Charlemagne-styled Chardonnay greatness who also happen to want to spend as little as possible!! Today is the day! We are pretty blown away, to put it mildly, to have snagged a few precious cases of one of the world's most sought-after and ICONIC Chardonnays, the singularly brilliant Leeuwin Estate!

There is really NOTHING like Leeuwin. Begun in the late 60s with some consulting help from the late Robert Mondavi, Leeuwin has gone on to become the DEFINITIVE, BENCHMARK Chardonnay of Australia (their Riesling is spectacular, as well, if you ever see it). And don't just listen to us...look at the oodles of huge scores, year after year! We can only use words like "seamless”, "laser-focused", and "pure" to describe the beauty of what this wine is...truly one of the most fantastic, mouth-watering examples of the varietal anywhere. Think White Burgundy here, folks (and you don't need to spend $100-$500 a bottle). Peach pit, lemon zest, bitter almond, grapefruits...the array of fruit is just amazing, not to mention the overall sense of perfect balance and structure. OH MAN, pour me another…!

Just SENSATIONAL wine, any way you slice it....and at a price that is unheard-of!! While it lasts..

A pristine and lifted nose highlighted by Nashi pears, limes, white peach and fig. The primary fruits are complimented by nutmeg, cinnamon, almonds and sesame that creates subtle complexity. The palate has concentration with clarity and purity. An introduction of grapefruit and pear lead to a delicately textured, layered and woven palate with nougat, anise and cashews present. There is immense length that finishes with a fine acid line and mineral finish.

About The Producer

Family owned, Leeuwin Estate, one of the five founding wineries of the now famous Margaret River district of Western Australia, is under the direction of two generations who work with a team of highly skilled winemakers to consistently produce wines ranking alongside the world's finest. In 1972, legendary Napa Valley winemaker, Robert Mondavi, identified the future site of the Leeuwin vineyard as being ideal for the production of premium wine and provided early mentorship to Denis and Tricia Horgan in the transformation of their cattle farm into Leeuwin Estate. Enjoying its first commercial vintage in 1979, Leeuwin was thrust into the international spotlight when Decanter Magazine gave its highest recommendation to the 1981 "Art Series" Chardonnay. The international accolades have continued and Leeuwin now exports to 30 markets. Celebrating the combination of fine wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin features an award winning restaurant, cellardoor and art gallery. The Estate is renowned for staging spectacular events and welcoming visitors from around the world.
