Maroon is a small production producer here in the Valley that is made by native son Chris Corley of Monticello Vineyards. Paul Maroon, who sadly passed away recently, was also longtime friends with Robert Craig who advised him through his career, and his family continues with this. 20 year-old vines, rock-solid, and, today...well...mind-and-teeth-rattlingly priced -- truly astounding.

What’s it like? This Rutherford bottling is all about SAVORY flavors pairing up with the bing cherry fruit. This wine might bring back a memory of some awesome meat/cheese shop you went to in Rome, or a cigar shop in NYC, or a walk through a florist's shop...bright red fruits, deep tobacco and rich, spiciness, fig jam and a warm earthiness (or is it Rutherford Dust??) --- anyway, it’s probably one of the finest and most outrageous deals we have had on Cab in some time -- we’re afraid to say much else. I mean….c’mon!!! Good luck, we hope you got some!!

About The Producer

Paul Maroon became interested in winemaking over 40 years ago while as a young man helping his uncle make wine in Pennsylvania. In the back of his mind he always knew that for him Napa Valley was the place to be. Paul visited as often as possible throughout the years and finally in 2000 realized his dream and relocated to the Napa Valley. Here he began his life as a vintner and Paul has been growing grapes and making fine wines ever since. He married his beautiful wife, Reneé in September of 2013.

Kara Krushin joined us in June 2019. An East Coast native, Kara lived in NYC for nearly 18 years working for companies such as Google, Yahoo and Ogilvy, where she held various roles in business, marketing and operations. She caught the wine bug after enrolling in the WSET course of study, and once she passed Level 3, knew it was time to follow her passion. Kara left the bright lights of the city and moved to Napa in 2018, where she spent a year working as Director at a small, family-owned winery before joining Maroon. When not out and about in CA wine country, Kara loves to travel internationally – especially where there are grapes!
