Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Laurence 2014 - Last Bottle

Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Laurence 2014

I know.

It’s like, you think, “These guys CANNOT have Pegau for this price, much less the rare Cuvee Laurence. It’s insane. What dark forces are they in possession of?”

Oh, boo, there’s no voodoo. We’ve just been selling wine online since 2000, we’re hip to it, man! Connections! Anyway, yes, it’s true, you are looking at the 98-POINT Cuvee Laurence from the legendary Domaine du Pegau, and we think you’re wiggidy-wiggidy-whack if you don’t snag a few.

Nuts! To the wine -- hold on. Your nose is about to rock your brain cells as you try to wrap up all the scents and impressions here. It’s important to note that while generally the Pegau wines will age for 10-30 years, the Cuvee Laurence is made to be a bit more approachable. The name is actually derived from Laurence asking her Dad to make something she didn’t have to wait a decade to drink, as she told us on a recent visit. Still, it’s PEGAU, baby, so it’s rich, complex and layered. New leather, dried roses, strawberry extract, plum and the deep, intense, sweet herb of wild thyme and fennel...so classic. Fresh and mineral on the palate, begs for good cheese. Ah, we’ll stop here, this will sell out in a flash. Did we mention 98 points?? Gonna go fast!
