Bien Nacido, of course, is one of the gems of the Santa Maria Valley -- intense, perfumey, big cherries, lavish baking spices (allspice, clove, cinnamon…), strawberry pie, lavender...MMM. CRAZY to see a price like this for a Bien Nacido wine! What else to say?? Alright, we already loading up Wine #4...hope you snag some of this!!
Fermentations are carried out with as little manipulation as possible. The wines
from Bien Nacido are deeper, richer and with more color and body than from
other vineyards. Our aging program is always in French oak barrels which are
heavily toasted during the bending of the staves. This vineyard, given its coastal
influence, produces a wine with aromas and flavors of freshly picked
strawberry, Bing cherry, cloves and spice. It maintains a balance of acidity and a
finish that lingers of sweet tobacco and spices. This wine is always elegant,
perfumed, and alluring.

About The Producer
Jed Steele has worked making wine in California since the late 1960s. In 1991, he founded his own small winery in Lake County. Steele Wines specializes in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Pinot Blanc and Syrah.
