Altruria Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County 2009

 Yup. That’s a real price. 

We’ve been working on this deal for 6 months at least. Please, aged Cabernet-loving people, DO ANYTHING, curl up, roll out, JUMP, spring and skip your way to a phone or whatever ASAP to snag this -- VERY LITTLE but WOWwowow wow!

So, this IS one of those deals where we can’t tell you where it’s from. Prestigious winemaker? Check? Top of Spring Mountain? Check. But trust us, you’d be deer-in-the-headlights stunned. The winery sells this wine for $125 and up (they make pricier cuvees, too) and made this 2009 for a special private client. The client ended up not taking it all, so the unlabeled, perfect bottles have been in limbo at the winery until we came along, tasted it, and worked with them on a brand new label, which they called Altruria (it’s a nice package!). NOW, after all these years resting comfortably in an icy warehouse, it has landed in OUR warehouse, aged to perfection and brilliantly perfect-drinking once it hits your hands. ZING!! Yes!

Astonishing price. RIGHT? It’s DARK, intense, spicy, packed with that brawny high-elevation mountain huckleberry/boysenberry fruit, cedar, dark bakers chocolate, black olives, clove, cigar box and sweet tobacco leaf, with terrific lift and a deeply spicy/brooding, dark mocha core. Serious juice that can age for ANOTHER decade, easy, especially with the fine provenance (it’s been unmoved for over a decade!!). Amazing. SO STOKED to have a bit to sell!! If you’ve always had trouble holding onto a Cabernet for more than a few minutes, give this a try -- prepare to be ROCKED! While it lasts!
