Wait, seriously? UNDER $50? For all three bottles? What are they...wine bottles for ants (sorry, can’t be a member of the hand model brotherhood without repping Zoolander from time to time)?!
But...for real...ONLY FORTY-NINE DOLLARS!!! For a 93, 91, and 90 POINT earning, single vineyard, family-owned, estate run TRIPLE THREAT from Midnight Cellars? Nearly 70% OFF?!?! SCORE!!! Paso Robles, good people, the land of cool-to-be-hip wines (or is it hip-to-be-cool?). No matter...wines certainly NOT-FOR-THE-SHY with plenty of ripe, deep berry and stone fruits notes and ample power and substance. This is the juicy juice, y’all – to stain your tongue and make your heart flutter with unabashed joy! Cabernet, zinfandel, and malbec, oh my! You could walk into the winery tomorrow and pick up this same three-pack for $162!!! I mean, that’s still a deal when you taste the quality of these wines, you’ll understand if you hurry...BUT...$49!!! That is absurd and ridonkulous!!!
Oh, right, the wine. But read quickly, we just don’t have that many three-packs – certainly not enough to go around! Let’s start with the zinfandel...from their estate vineyard in the Willow Creek AVA. This, as the folks at Enthusiast so aptly put it, is a “bruiser” – absolutely wild and deep, with spice, licorice, and heady berry and stone fruit medley...you’re gonna need to get some proper Central Texas BBQ for this baby! But the malbec, oh mama, this ain’t no wilting flower either! If the color purple had a taste...this would be it! Berries, herbs, baking spices, and vanilla and mocha tones, this is a soft and regal hug of velvety and silky-smooth deliciousness. I’d drink this with a turtleneck, sitting by a roaring fire, with snow falling on towering pine trees out the window...preferably in Aspen. And...last but never, ever least, we have the cabernet sauvignon. Not gonna lie, somewhat shocked that this only got 90 points – it's about as classic, rich, and powerfully bold as I could ever want or dream in a Paso cab. Hedonistic, with flashy, sexy oak notes leading out the gate, and deep berry, cassis, and cherry notes nipping at the heels. Rich and luscious all the way through, with a smoky, spicy, and lingering finish. This is the main course on a tasting menu of monstrous (and delicious) proportions! We’ll say it again...for ONLY $49!!! Nearly 70% OFF!!! Onward, good citizens!!!
