Domaine de Nerleux Cremant de Loire La Folie des Loups NV
Domaine de Nerleux!!! The House of the Black Wolves, people! Before you get all Guinness-besotted and start crooning “Old Danny Boy”...take thirty seconds and lock in your spring bubbly supply! Over 50% OFF bubbles!!! Yes!
This Cremant d’Loire is sparkling wine at a VERY high level (not that you’d know it by our melon-twisting, I’ll-take-a-case price!!) – one of the best Cremants we have tasted in many a moon!! 70% chenin blanc, 15% chardonnay, 15% cabernet franc – made in the Champagne method with nearly two years on the lees – KILLER! Did you see the price?! Leaping leprechauns…we worked a little fairy magic and scored big time – drink this with abandon, with joy, with gusto over the next 6 months...we will be! Just landed in the warehouse, WOOHOO!
Long considered to be among the great values from the Loire Valley, this will leave you SHOOK – rich, toasty aromas...so, so comforting...like walking into a bakery in France and being knocked silly by the fresh-baked bread, the croissants, heady scents of butter and toasted almonds. Oooh la la! Blend that with white peach and nectarine, mandarin blossoms, honeydew melon...WOW! And the bubbles…! Always a hallmark of good bubbly – delicate, fine, tiny bubbles, that make this even easier to love. Organically grown too! So good! Nerleux is located in northwest France (near Nantes on the Loire river), sandwiched between two impressive terrains, the vineyards of Brézé and Chacé. Set in an old limestone manor that was crafted from local quarry stones in the 17th century…it pretty much ROCKS on all levels. At SIXTEEN DOLLARS – it’s a colossal no-brainer.
Alas...not much to be had… we will sell out quick...! OK – off to prep some corned beef and cabbage! Sláinte!!!
The Domaine de Nerleux is a family estate located in the Loire Valley. The Nerleux – meaning Black Wolves in old French – have long since made way for the vineyard with Amélie Neau, ninth-generation of a winemaker family, now in charge since 2010.

About The Producer
As a testimony of the times when the wolf was an animal roaming our countryside, Nerleux means “Black Wolves” in old French. On the estate of the Domaine de Nerleux, wolves made way a long time ago for the vines and the noise of the clippers replaced the howling. The nobility of the wolves and men alike left a lasting impression on the estate, its terroir, and then its wines.
