Remember how he’d get all excited, stammer, blubber, and spittle out gibberish before eventually getting to the point?

Welp, that was me yesterday morning. Came into a note on the ol’ writing desk – “New wine on the bar, some micro-production Napa cab you’ve never heard of, retails through the winery for $145, give it a try.” So I did. YOWZA! Jaw on the floor, giddy, convulsing with utterly epic, spine-tingling Napa cab goodness. Looney Tunes, indeed! Bedapbeepbedeepbadeep… That’s All, Folks! 73% OFF!!! Insanity. For a single vineyard, Rutherford soul-warming CABERNET?!?! 

Dark. Dusty. Concentrated, yet elegant, as the best Rutherford cabs should be. Inky red currant, dark boysenberry and blackberry preserves, mocha, more mocha, a kiss of Tahitian vanilla, some earthy clove and black pepper spice, rhubarb, Earl Grey tea...is that pencil lead too? I LOVE pencil lead!!! 20 months in toasty French oak give this structure – a luxurious frame of velvety smooth tannins extending this into a rich, hedonistic finish. Drink NOW (later too, but promise me, bust one open as soon as it hits your front porch)! I’m taking one home for dinner tonight – mushroom soup and crusty, toasty, buttery baguette, baby! This is one heck of a local wine find – perhaps one of the best deals on NAPA CAB we’ve had in many a moon! ONE HUNDRED AND SIX DOLLARS OFF!!! Who but Last Bottle? No one, that’s who! Not a lot, so don’t be DAFFY and roadrunner to grab this delectable beauty before it’s gone!
