Figli Luigi Oddero Barolo Rocche Rivera 2015

ODDERO CRU BAROLO! 96 POINTS!!!

Yeah, baby!! Wow! Hardcore collectors, savvy Piemontese aficionados, and ANYONE who wants to have the foundations of their wine-loving palate rocked to the core…this is your day (or hour!)!

A huge, ICONIC, and historic star in Barolo, Figli Luigi Oddero continues to crush it in Piemonte!

This is the brilliant, off-the-hook 2015 – one of Piemonte’s best vintages of the last two decades with even more power and concentration than your average King in the North(!) Barolo. We are talking world-class, incredibly collectible Barolo here...it is hard enough to find these wines under $150 any day – much less for the revered Rocche Rivera! This is a cru within a cru kind of parcel, at the very top of Scarrone, in the Castiglione Falletto region of Barolo, made from fruit taken only from the uppermost portion, with the most favorable exposition, to ensure the very best of the best gets turned into this magical elixir! Sizzling intense minerality and unbelievably refined elegance is the happy result…the very fastest among you that actually snag this are gonna be STOKED!!!

Let the glory of this rich, intense wine wash over you – I sure am! A "WOW" wine any way you slice it, not a burly Barolo, but in a sexy style, with immeasurably deep sensations and waves of black cherry, raspberry, and dark blue fruits, that gotta-have-it black tea note, woodsy, forest floor spices, inky black licorice, leather, spearmint, crushed gravel – oh, BABY! Just a terrifically textured, mouth-coating feel. Simply amazing at the price. 96 POINTS! So good! And super limited!

The vineyard Rocche di Rivera site is essentially a cru within a cru. From vines high on the slope in the Rocche Rivera section of the Scarrone cru near the village of Castiglione Falletto, directly adjacent to the Rocche di Castiglione.

About The Producer

The Oddero family has been active in Barolo since the 1800s and was among the first in the region to commercialize their wine. Over the years, they amassed an impressive 70 hectares of vines in Barolo. In 2006, third-generation winemaker Luigi Oddero split from his brother Giacomo to establish his own label. With his wife, children, and 32 hectares, Luigi set out to create a family legacy of his own. Today, the winery is in the hands of Luigi’s grandchildren, Maria and Giovanni, who continue to explore traditional Barolo winemaking.
