Soquel Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Partners' Reserve Atlas Peak Napa Valley 2018 - Last Bottle

Soquel Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Partners' Reserve Atlas Peak Napa Valley 2018

The Big Le Bocce (yes, we roll in bathrobes while sippin’ White Russians on occasion) just started training camp for the 2024 season, so this EPIC cabernet sauvignon from our friends at Soquel Vineyards was on the brain this Friday! Big Le Bocce alum Stephanie Morgan is a part of one of the families behind Soquel Vineyards, and she first brought this super-fine, totally luxurious Napa cab to our Bocce league a couple of years back. She’s since moved back down closer to Santa Cruz to help run the winery - definitely a spot y’all want to visit if you’re nearby.

Oh yeah, the wine! Spoiler alert...IT ROCKS! Napa’s absolutely stellar 2018 harvest (this vintage was rated 99 points and the highest-rated vintage in Wine Spectator history!), the power and grace of ATLAS PEAK – I mean, that’s just what we are all about!! This is the RESERVE to boot and one that typically sells for $125 a bottle at the winery. NOT TODAY! Way Under $50, my friends! Decanter just blessed this with a KILLER 94 POINTS but I was already in love long before! Lush and plush black cherry cola, plums, and muddled blackberries, with totally sexy French oak notes of mocha, clove, and Tahitian vanilla…WOW! Big and mouth-coating, but not overly flashy – there’s some serious depth here, too! Fresh pipe tobacco, bay laurel, black peppercorns, and this long and graphite edge to the finish…mmmmm! Did you see that price yet? Savings of OVER $75 on a wine like this, from a revered mountain site in Napa…what a world!

Deep, rich, polished, lush, and concentrated, this could be mistaken for many a $200+ culty Napa cab. Delightfully long and wildly complex, this is just a ridiculous no-brainer at our price – get a few to share, but get MORE to save for yourself. Only 360 cases EVER made – and we snagged the rest of what’s left! While it lasts…!

** Can’t wait for Bocce this spring…we’ve yet to make the league playoffs, but I have a feeling…this might be our year! **

After years of perfecting their garage wine, two twin brothers and their childhood friend fulfill their dream of creating their own label. The result? Some of the best juice from the Santa Cruz Mountains.

About The Producer

What began as garage wine blossomed into an instant success for Soquel Vineyards founders John Morgan, and brothers Peter and Paul Bargetto. They decided to launch their own label in 1987, renting space from Dennis Bassano at Grover Gulch Winery. They operated there for fourteen years, until they found their current property in 1999 and obtained permits to plant their first vineyard in 2003. Those vines were planted in their three-acre hillside parcel, and are dedicated to Pinot Noir. The rest of their fruit is sourced from the finest spots in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Paso Robles, and Napa Valley.
