Pull over your car, drop the coffee, excuse yourself for a pee, whatever you need to lock some of theis TRUE CELLAR TREASURE from the we-don’t-know-how-many-95-100-point-scores master of winemaking that is Jean Hoefliger at The Debate (Google it -- the critical acclaim for these wines is off the hook), Alpha Omega, AXR and many more. JUST...wow!!!! We’re about to launch into a story of HOW we even scored these, ready??!!

Retail is $200 a bottle. These wines were never released to the public, never sent to the critics, the winery just HAD them, sitting pristinely in the cellar until we went over, tasted them, got them all hopped up on martinis and made a deal. We are WELL over 50% OFF on these crazy rarities, and basically you could NEVER find them, anywhere, unless you happen to be friends with Jean. EXCEPT TODAY, here at LB, where we tear holes in the space/time continuum on the regular. How many times can I type wow?

So, besides you being one of the very few in the solar system to own a few bottles, what is amazingly cool here is the opportunity to taste, side by side, a ”horizontal” of three of Napa’s greatest vineyards. An exploration of terroir, if you like. We suggest tasting them (sorry...DRINKING them) in this order -- Missouri Hopper, Dr. Crane and To-Kalon. All the wines are MASSIVE, brain-cell-melting blockbusters, but generally that order (honestly, it’s pretty hard to wrong here!!). With a solid decade of age, they have become even more complex and layered (although, we’ll say if you didn’t know, you’d NEVER think these were 10 yrs old!!), packed with dark, brooding blue and purple-ness, spice and rich, velvet, fine texture and length. Awesome. Missouri Hopper has the coolest of the climates, To Kalon is at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains, and Dr. Crane has the warmest of the climates, so you’ll appreciate the subtle different levels of richness, complexity and flavors. And...this is the idea, FYI, behind the name - The Debate. Swiss-born winemaker Jean Hoefliger wants you to have a badass dinner party, drink all these and argue, debate, pontificate and cogitate on them. HELL YES we say!! And how about this PRICE??! Too cool. We’re gobsmacked. WHILE. THEY. LAST.

** of course, this is wicked-limited...first come, first served…

*** You don’t have to have a big debate at your party. Just watch Super Troopers or something instead and bask in the Cabernet lushness.

**** Sorry. We’re too stoked. Order the Bo Ssam from Momofuku for your party, too. So, so, so, titillatingly delish. MMM!

The Debate celebrates the contrast of vintage, the discovery of varietals, the diversity of 'dirt', the allure of single vineyards, the art of conversation, the difference of viewpoints, and most importantly the enjoyment of sharing them.

About The Producer

Wines, like people, are a reflection of their origin and evolution. The Debate began in 2010 when two friends brought their unique perspectives together to create thought-provoking and delicious wines that extend beyond the sense of taste to the thrill of telling stories and the art of listening. By selecting three different vineyards with three different expressions of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the Debate seeks to point out the diversity of terroir as well as the diversity of people. We live in an age where less and less time is spent at the dinner table discussing these different points of view. The Debate's mission is to bring people together to share a glass of wine to discuss and debate just as our team does.
