Bodegas Cosme Palacio Glorioso Selección Especial 100 Años Aniversario Rioja 2017
Even more 95 POINT Rioja! For way, WAY less than $20?! Oh, baby, what a world!
REE-OH-HA!
Oh me, oh my…messing with the bull AND the horns today…and LOVING it! We’ve been doing Western Wednesdays as of late at the office – but I just might have to go full Rip today! (Anyone got a line on Klapper spurs?) Anywho…go get this no-brainer of a colossal red Rioja before anything, 95 POINTS, and singing to the heavens – one of the best we’ve had from the legendary Bodegas Palacios.
We are slam-dancing a bit, gotta be honest. A crowd-surfingly, gnarly amazing price of $16 (not to mention LIGHTS OUT killer-diller delish, with an almost Nutella-like feel and sense to it, which, also, is our late-night sugar treat of choice, mmm so yum). Historic Spanish producer, Bodegas Palacios, has been rocking the Rioja since 1894 and sending shockwaves throughout the wine world ever since. While most Rioja producers prioritize the prolonged aging of their “Gran Riserva," Palacios focuses on the freshness and richness achieved through shorter barrel and minimal bottle aging (1 year each) with their Crianzas, which brings us back to the aforementioned NUTELLA – along with that expected medley of perfectly ripe summer berries and a wildly aromatic perfume, with mouth-filling texture, spice, and toasted cocoa beans… tons going on at our stupendous price.
Really. I mean, did you get some yet?
One of the greatest landmarks in the history of Bodegas Palacio was the launch of Glorioso in 1917. Throughout its ten decades of history, the brand has grown greatly in prestige due to its capacity to interpret the personality of the Rioja Alavesa: the unique sum of a deep winemaking tradition and a genuinely vibrant and fresh style.
