Yep, LUNA. The big dogs, the tete de cuvees, the apex predators. Back to destroy all socially-accepted norms of wine pricing! We know you've seen a decent amount of these delicious wines since we bought the winery's inventory, but we saved the BEST of the BEST for last, or as Eazy would say: "Yeah 'cause this is the way I know you like it, So you won't strike it, I took it and I hyped it..."

$324 OFF retail. It's.....breathtaking. OVER 60% OFF original retail, a whiplashingly cool mix of all the very TIP-TOP Luna wines with pricing that was achieved with a very sharp paring knife. Now, let's talk straight here --- when we had the Luna opportunity earlier this year (we bought the inventory, the physical winery was sold to become Burgess, FYI), we tasted EVERYTHING they had, several times, in some epic tastings (there were over 180 different wines), before we made the commitment. In the case of the high-end $100 wines, we may have tasted them MANY times ha ha, but we wanted to be sure everything we were contemplating buying was ALL THAT. These wines are POWERFUL, long-lived, deep, dark, almost old-school Napa --- think Mayacamas, Dalla Valle, Heitz...they are HUGE, dark, concentrated beasts that will age for decades. Some of them invoke Luna's FIRST winemaker, the legendary John Kongsgaard, as they are just SO masculine and gutsy, with lots of everything.

There's not enough room here to delve into each wine (there are plenty of mid-90s scores from the pros for them that we encourage you to read) but trust your been-around-the-block-a-few-times wine merchant (the 3 of us have like 80yrs of experience doing this) -- this is a complete, utter no-brainer if you love big, rich, hardcore Napa Cab. And....I don't do this often, but if you don't like 'em, I'll come out to your house and mow your lawn (or snowblow it) and make you a crispy fried chicken sandwich and a caesar salad (from scratch). Really.
