Are you not entertained?! Is this not why you are here?! 94 POINTS. Over 63% OFF…Maximus…Maximus…

Oh, baby…I guess it’s past time I watched Gladiator again! Preferably with a bottle of this, and a simply hedonistic array of olives, charcuterie, cheeses, maybe a chariot race on the TV – good times. Ok…let’s get after it…fabulous people, you awesome humans – we HEARD you!! And we HOOKED you up today, oh yes! Bennett Lane has been on our “most re-requested” list since the first time we ever offered it some years back – so any of you who know this wine probably aren't reading anyway, as you’ve already got your 6-pack!

For the rest of you – well, just HURRY is all we can advise, here sorry. Beautifully drinking, 94 POINT cab-dominant deliciousness, rounded out with 9% merlot, 6% syrah, 5% malbec, and 2% petit verdot at...well, let’s find the right phrase...reality warping prices, like, you just went through a black hole to a dimension where Cabernet at this level costs about 63+% less than you ever thought possible. Oh, and also you have 2 heads and telekinetic powers. Who knows? It’s possible.

This might come from another dimension as well – huge, concentrated, and more plush than an emperor’s lion-skin cape – pulsating with lavish blueberries and black cherries, plums, and blackberries, all complemented extravagantly with smoky cedar, and finely coated with molten dark chocolate. Roasted herbs, and silky tannins, with a hint of rocky minerality – there’s sooo much to discover here, at a simply RIDONKULOUS price! I said 94 POINTS, right? For the nigh-on unbelievable price of just $20?!?! What are you waiting for??? Drink this tonic!!!

** So…Gladiator Two, huh? Will it be a masterfully handled continuation long overdue…or a money-grabbing soulless effort that will only serve to enrage fans of the original? And can it really be worth the price of admission without Djimon Hounsou’s Juba making a return? Time will tell… **

"The 2019 Maximus is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Syrah, 5% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot, aged 12 months in 30% new French oak, produced by Rob Hunter (formerly of Groth, Robert Keenan, Markham, and Sterling) for Bennett Lane Winery. Plump and juicy blueberry fruit aromas dance with blackberry compote and sweet cedar. Full-bodied with robust tannins and concentrated black and blue fruits nuanced by sagebrush and dark chocolate." ~Decanter
