FAQs
Last Bottle is the brainchild of a group of Napa Valley entrepreneurs and longtime experts in the global wine business. Recognizing the need for continuing reduction of inventory on the supply side, and the strong desire of passionate wine consumers for value, choice and top quality, we built Last Bottle. Our location, in the lush, verdant and wine-filled Napa Valley, gives us a unique opportunity to source high-quality wines and pricing that other flash sale sites can't match. Our close relationship with wineries and other suppliers sets us apart, as does our ability to source older vintages and rare wines of excellent provenance.
Last Bottle has several sister sites which we encourage you to check out...
First Bottle Wines: First Bottle is an online, browsable wine shop, or (as we like to say) “a curated selection of vino for the discerning wine lover, at incredible prices.” We’re wine nerds who specialize in fine, rare, and collectable bottles, all conveyed in a friendly, down-to-earth style.
Last Bubbles: The first and only daily wine deal that is 100% sparkling! We offer just one hand-picked sparkler per day, always at incredible prices (we're talking 30%-70% off retail). The best part? There's no subscriptions, no fees, no minimum purchase.
The Bottle Drop: Consider this your inside source for limited-run, ridiculously good wine — no snobbery, no guesswork. Each delectable drop is a limited release — sometimes a few hundred bottles, sometimes far, far fewer. Sign up for a chance to purchase. No subscriptions, no pressure.
You may invite family and friends to our site as a way to promote the site and earn referral credits. SWEET!!! Please be aware of the following rules around referrals:
Account credits are applied automatically, but will be revoked anytime we suspect malicious activity. Orders will be canceled and accounts banned if we see anyone abusing the invite system.
- It is against the spirit of our program to promote the referral credit as a "one-time freebie," and any accounts found exploiting credits in this way will be subject to a ban.
- You may not open multiple accounts to acquire referral credits. If our system detects that an account has utilized the same credit card or shipping address for a referral order, both accounts will immediately be suspended pending review.
If we find a customer has done any of this, their account will be subject to a suspension and all associated orders will be canceled. We have the last judgment if we feel the system is being abused.
We put up a new wine offer each morning, and most days we sell all the way down to the "last bottle." However, we do occasionally get customer cancellations, so it's worth a shot to email us with your request on the off-chance that we have some on-hand!
Another great way to reorder your favorites is during the Marathon, which you can learn more about here.
Marathons are huge blowouts that happen three times a year: Spring, Harvest, and Holiday. This is a great time to discover and load up on wines because you get free shipping on ALL orders (excluding AK and HI - sorry guys). Here is a link to our Marathon Guide and the Marathon FAQ.
You can pay using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We do not accept checks, money orders, or Paypal at this time.
Heck yeah!!! Wine is the ULTIMATE gift for any occasion! Just enter a note in the gift message section at checkout and we'll be sure to leave out the invoice when we pack up the shipment.
We don't have physical gift certificates, but you are welcome to purchase an e-gift card right here.
Last Bottle is what we call "lean and mean." We run a tight ship with no frills, and that’s to keep prices down and the deals comin'. Being "email only" lets us consolidate our energy into doing just that.
We have no one answering phones but if you prefer to use our voicemail, be sure to state your name and email address in your message, as our reply will come via email. Our voicemail number is +1(707) 251-8186
Nope, sorry— orders can only be placed through the website. If you have special instructions, please enter them into the shipping notes box while placing your order.
Yes, as long as you buy the minimum amount stated in the shopping cart! This applies to anywhere we ship in the U.S., but excludes Alaska and Hawaii. During the Marathon, shipping is 100% free on all orders heading to the contiguous U.S.
Last Bottle has several excellent shipping partners who are here to ensure your wines arrive quickly and in great condition. You may see an email from WeShip Express (donotreply@weshipexpress.com) or from CellarSwift (help@cellarswift.com) with tracking details.
Our "final mile" carriers include FedEx, UPS, and GLS. Please note that some destinations have limited carrier options.
During fall, winter, and spring we do our best to ship your order within 5 business days (oftentimes, even sooner!) If your order isn't received in 10 business days, please email us at help@lastbottlewines.com. In the summer we provide the option to hold your wines until the temperatures have lowered, (between September and December).
Heck yeah! We offer Overnight and 2 Day Air to most states. Wine packages are notoriously heavy, and expedited shipping can get pretty expensive. However, we promise to always quote you the lowest price we can possibly obtain.
Choosing the hold option during the summer months is always your best bet, but if you need that bottle now (trust me, we understand), your next best option is utilizing an ice pack, which can be added when selecting your shipping method.
Keep in mind, inclement weather can cause popped corks, leakage, and major damage. Even an ice pack will give out within a couple days transit in high temps, so keep that in mind when choosing your shipping/hold method. Ice-packs can only be utilized with Styrofoam shipping inserts, as they will melt our eco-friendly pulp shippers.
We can hold your package for up to two weeks during the fall, winter, and spring, and for an extended period of time during the summer. If you have a specific ship date in mind, please put your requested ship date in the shipping notes box. If you would like your wines held for the summer in our temperature-controlled warehouse, choose the 'hold' option at checkout and we will dispatch the order in the fall when temperatures drop.
Email us at help@lastbottlewines.com and we will get this sorted out! We can only reimburse you through an account credit.
We stand behind every bottle we sell, and we know that sometimes you can get a bad bottle (just like with a dozen eggs or a dozen oysters, right?) If you feel you have a corked or spoiled wine, please let us know via email, and we'll take care of it for you.
We guarantee the excellent provenance of the wine we sell, and will happily return, refund, credit, or exchange bottles that suffer from the following conditions:
- Wine that is leaking on arrival.
- Incorrect fulfillment (wrong vintage, etc.)
- Shipping problems that are clearly the fault of the shipper or Last Bottle.
We generally cannot accept returns of wine in your possession longer than 6 months, as we have no way of knowing your specific storage conditions. We hope you understand. We will, however, review this on a case-by-case basis.
In the event that your order is rerouted back to our warehouse, our returns team will reach out to you once the package has been checked in, providing you with choices on how to proceed.
If you need to cancel your order for whatever reason, please email us at help@lastbottlewines.com. Credit cards are charged immediately upon purchase, so a refund would show as a new line-item a few days later. You may be subject to a 3% refund fee, based on our discretion. The separate shipping fee, if applicable to your order, is non-refundable for packages that have left our facility. If you would like to receive Last Bottle credits instead, we can put the entire amount into your account for a future purchase.
Uh oh! First, check your Promotions inbox to see if our emails are there. If it is, drag it to the Primary tab, and select "Yes" when asked to do this for future messages from Last Bottle. If that doesn't work, check your spam folder and (if our emails are there), mark one or two as "not spam."
