The Marathon is two days of pell-mell, uber-speedy wine-blowout madness; we’re talking back-to-back deals on over 1000 different wines. When we have too few bottles for a daily offer, we put it in the Marathon stockpile. Some of these bottles are MEGA rare, collector-type vino. Then, over the course of two insane days, we blow through it at breakneck speed... down to the LAST last bottle. We flip the offer at the moment the last one sells out (sometimes in seconds). All wines are first-come-first-served!

"I continue to love the wines from Michel Gracia. His 2018 Château Gracia comes from a 1.83-hectare parcel in Saint-Emilion and is 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a true vin de garage operation, made in a tiny cellar in the village. Revealing a dense purple hue as well as a rocking nose of crème de cassis, espresso, smoked tobacco, new leather, and spring flowers, this carries to a full-bodied wine with incredible polish and elegance, plenty of power and richness, silky tannins, and a great, great finish. About the Producer

The small, 2.84 hectare St. Emilion vineyard of Gracia is planted to 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The terroir is clay and limestone soils. The vines are old, averaging close to 40 years of age. This Right Bank, Bordeaux vineyard is planted to a vine density of 5,500 vines per hectare. Although there are parts of the vineyard planted to a vine density of 10,000 plants per hectare, which is extremely high for St. Emilion.

The amount of effort required to produce this small wine is extensive. Chateau Gracia sees a 28 to 30-day maceration period. Vinification takes place in a combination of small, temperature controlled, stainless steel vats and Taransaud oak tanks.

Yields are always low here. On average, they are often only 25 hectoliters per hectare and at times, they are even lower! Which explains the levels of concentration and the low quantity of wine available.

Malolactic fermentation takes place in 100% new, French oak barrels. The wine of Chateau Gracia is aged in 100% new, French oak barrels. As you can expect, not much wine is made as on average, there is close to 350 cases of wine produced here per vintage.
