DOUBLE 94 POINT Pinot Noir is on the board! A beloved and long-standing vineyard that helped Oregon become a Pinot Powerhouse – from a single cherished clone and 55 year old vines – all for UNDER $25!!!

Beaux Frères. Cristom. Antica Terra. Bergström, Penner-Ash, Lingua Franca, and Patricia Green. Yes…I just rattled off some of Oregon Pinot Noir’s greatest houses – but what they really have in common is THIS legendary vineyard. HYLAND vineyard is a Willamette Valley ICON – supplying fruit for Oregon’s pioneering Pinot producers since the early 1970s, some 40 miles southwest of Portland. We scored some of the rarest fruit on the entire property – the oldest vines, planted back in 1971, and smuggled over from France in a suitcase back in 1964 by pioneering grape specialist Charles Coury.

The vineyard is over 200 acres of Oregonian magnificence – where marine sediment and volcanic topsoils rest atop a 2,000 foot thick bedrock of ancient oceanic floor…that now rests at 600-800 feet above sea level. It’s true UNICORN dirt, good people…and the wines are every bit as unique, and worth seeking. Welp, seek…no…FURTHER!!!

The Coury clone is revered for its high-toned aromatics, unlimited spice box complexities, and deeply satisfying red fruit character. This is all of that and a nice bag of chips – with raspberries, and red cherries, cranberries too, filling out an expansive core that simply hums with frenetic vibrancy. The aromatics run the gamut of floral meadows, to wild, coastal woodlands, with punctuations of earthy spices and shroomy gatherings…that oh-so-perfect balance of savory and fruity that makes Pinot Noir such a wonder of the wine world.

Simply incredible now, but with the depth, structure, and pristine balance to evolve fantastically over the next decade and a half…E-Z!!! At our simply INCREDIBLE price of just $22 – this is not to be missed, and you would be super-savvy to score at least a six pack for the years to come. This is top-notch Oregon Pinot minus the sort of price tag that every other producer boasting Hyland fruit carries with it. We’ve already blitzed through one great Pinot today, however, so do what you must, and load up while we’ve got ‘em!

Embrace the weekend! Life’s short, drink the good stuff, my friends.

94 POINTS
"The single clone ‘Coury’ comes from the oldest blocks in the Hyland Estates Vineyard. This is flinty and earthy on the nose with freshly tilled diatomaceous soils alongside shades of red raspberry and sour cherry. The palate is lithe and beautifully textured, with a fantastic sense of weight and length. A very pretty core of red fruits combine with citrus rind and diatom accents. Beautiful now, watch this evolve over the next fifteen years." -Owen Bargreen
94 POINTS
"These mature, own-rooted vines are the genesis of something special. The wine's red cherry and sage aromas are joined by a meaty wisp of pulled pork. Flavors like ripe Bing cherries, earthy oregano and black tea seem to pop, thanks to zippy acidity and a taut, crisp texture. The Coury Clone spent nine months in French oak, 25% new." -Wine Enthusiast
