OVER 70% OFF a Paul Hobbs’ pedigreed Sonoma Coast Chardonnay?! Julian Gonzalez is running the show now — and THIS is how you make a STATEMENT!!! UNDER $20 and absolutely singing!!!

Alright, let's talk about what happens when one of the most quietly brilliant small-production Napa projects takes their Sonoma Coast Chardonnay game to the next level — FULLY barrel fermented, 11 months in French oak — and then…THEN — Last Bottle sends it your way for the silly price of just $19 a bottle. NINETEEN DOLLARS! That's a full $46 off a $65 retail price for a wine that was born in the  expansive vineyard pedigree of the legendary PAUL HOBBS and handed off to a winemaker — Julian Gonzalez — whose resume reads like a Napa Valley Hall of Fame induction speech. You kidding me?! Dominus Estate. Stag's Leap. Mi Sueño. Baldacci. Mark Herold's Merus Estate. Paul Hobbs own right-hand man for over a decade. Yes…THAT guy! He’s the man crafting this Chardonnay now…and you can have it delivered to your door for less than your last DoorDash order. Let that sink in for a second.

Sixteen by Twenty — yes, the dimensions of a standard painter's canvas — was always Paul Hobbs' most personal, most boutique, most deliberately small-scale project. Artist David Dunphy and his wife Karen launched it with just FIFTEEN cases in their first vintage, hauling bottles around Napa in a truck like a couple of passionate, slightly wild-eyed dreamers. The whole philosophy: restraint, proportion, expression of place. A painting, not a poster. When Paul handed the keys to Julian Gonzalez, the spirit didn't flinch — it just evolved. And this 2022 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is the proof. Fully barrel fermented and nestled into French oak for nearly a year, this isn't your average California butter-bomb. This is Chardonnay built the RIGHT way — coastal precision, textural richness, and a sense of place that Burgundy lovers will immediately recognize and revere.

In the glass, expect a gorgeous, golden, luminous pour — with aromas of ripe Honeycrisp apple, poached pear, and lemon curd swirling with toasty hazelnut and a whisper of caramelized brioche from all that barrel work. The palate is creamy and lush — like the vinous equivalent of a cashmere throw — but with this bright, bracing lift of citrus zest and saline coastal minerality that keeps it honest and incredibly alive through every sip. Golden peach, and vanilla cream, with a buttery mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish that just BEAMS. This is Michelin-starred-restaurant-wine-list caliber at a Tuesday-night-treat price point…and with nowhere near enough bottles to go around, it's the kind of deal that disappears faster than Taylor Swift floor tickets.
